Guided Biofilm Therapy

Our office has attended many hours of continuing education in order to provide advanced preventative therapy and dental hygiene to our patients. Guided Biofilm Therapy is the latest advancement in dental hygiene as it allows us to tailor our treatment of gingivitis and periodontal disease to the bacteria present in an individual patient's mouth. Using our in office microscope, we can take a sample of a patient's dental plaque and determine if a patient has a low, moderate, or high risk of developing gum disease based on the types of bacteria present in their mouth. If warranted, we can then send this sample off for laboratory testing to determine the species of bacteria present to further target and specify our treatment. We have the newest dental hygiene technology in our EMS Prophy Master system. The Prophy Master combines a Piezon to remove stuck on calculus deposits with an AirFlow device that efficiently and effectively removes stubborn stains, all while using warmed water for ultimate patient comfort. We are proud to be the only Guided Biofilm Therapy certified office in the state of Louisiana.
